The 360 Deal – A Guide To Entering The Music Industry

On April 5, 2013

Early this year I was asked to contribute to a book being compiled by Professor Andrew Dubber of Birmingham City University titled “The 360 Deal”. His idea was to bring together 360 people to each write 360 words to form a book that would sell for $3.60 (or more if you like). All proceeds go towards Music Basti - a youth-led charity in India which brings music workshops to homes for children affected by extreme poverty.

My contribution discusses the difficulty of pricing your time as a freelancer and understanding when doing work for free can be a good thing, but working for cheap can be detrimental. Although this topic itself would make a nice blog post here, I’d rather you grab the book if you want to know more ;-)
